Doğum & ÇocuklukBirth & Early Life

Lefkoşa'da doğdu. İlkokul eğitiminin ardından Kıbrıs'ın en köklü eğitim kurumlarından Türk Maarif Koleji'nde ortaokul ve lise öğrenimini tamamladı. Gençlik yıllarında babası Fadıl Benter ile birlikte Lefkoşa Tenis Kulübü kortlarında tenis sporuna adım attı ve başarılı bir tenisçi olarak yetişti.Born in Nicosia. Following primary school, he completed his middle and high school studies at Türk Maarif College, one of Cyprus's most established educational institutions. In his youth, he stepped into tennis at the Nicosia Tennis Club courts with his father Fadıl Benter and grew up to be a successful tennis player.

1985'te Florida Üniversitesi Kimya Bölümü'nden mezun oldu. New York Tıp Fakültesi'nde yüksek lisans eğitimi aldı ve 1991'de Ohio State Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nden doktora (PhD) derecesi elde etti. Cleveland Clinic Vakfı Beyin ve Damar Araştırmaları Bölümü'nde ihtisas yaptıktan sonra Wake Forest Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hipertansiyon Araştırma Bölümü'nde çalıştı. 1994'te Tennessee Üniversitesi Tıp ve Göz Fakültesi'nde Yardımcı Doçent, ardından Doçent olarak akademik kariyerini sürdürdü.He graduated from the University of Florida Department of Chemistry in 1985. He completed graduate studies at New York Medical College and received his PhD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1991. After completing his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Department of Brain and Vascular Research, he worked at Wake Forest University's Hypertension Research Center. In 1994, he joined the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and College of Optometry as Assistant Professor, and later Associate Professor.

Kıbrıs Vakıflar İdaresi (Evkaf) LiderliğiCyprus Evkaf Administration Leadership

10 yıl boyunca Kıbrıs Vakıflar İdaresi Genel Müdürü olarak görev yaptı. Benter döneminde Vakıfların yıllık hayır bütçesi 2 bin sterlinden 2 milyon sterline çıkarak tarihi bir büyüme yaşadı. Gençlere din, dil, ırk gözetmeksizin karşılıksız iyilik yapmayı aşılayan "İyilik Gönüllüleri" projesini hayata geçirdi.He served as General Director of the Cyprus Evkaf Administration for 10 years. Under Benter's leadership, Evkaf's annual charity budget increased from £2,000 to £2,000,000, achieving historic growth. He launched the "İyilik Gönüllüleri" (Kindness Volunteers) project to inspire youth to perform unconditional acts of kindness regardless of religion, language, or race.

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Benter'in en önemli buluşu, renin-angiotensin sisteminde koruyucu rol oynayan Angiotensin-(1-7) hormonudur. Bu hormonun kalp-damar, böbrek, diyabet ve kanser tedavisindeki klinik faydalarını araştırmak amacıyla ABD'de 22 farklı klinik deney (Clinical Trials) yürütülmektedir. Benter, bu alanda dünyadaki en üretken yazar olarak tıp literatüründe en çok atıf alan bilim insanlarından biridir.Prof. Dr. İbrahim Benter's most prominent discovery is the protective hormone Angiotensin-(1-7) within the renin-angiotensin system. Currently, 22 clinical trials are active in the US to test the clinical benefits of this hormone for cardiovascular, kidney, diabetes, and cancer therapies. Benter is recognized as the most prolific author in the world in this field.

Gönüllü fen ve tenis dersleriyle gençleri zararlı alışkanlıklardan uzak tutacak projeler geliştirdi.During his student years in the US, he founded the Turkish Cypriot Student Association of America in New York. He established a school and a sports center in Memphis, helping local youth gain admission to prestigious universities like Harvard. He voluntarily gave science and tennis lessons, steering youth away from harmful habits.

Görev süresi boyunca "İyilik Medeniyeti" vizyonunu merkeze alan Prof. Dr. Benter; restorasyon projeleri, eğitim bursları, gençlik faaliyetleri ve sosyal yardımlaşma konularında kuruma altın çağını yaşatmıştır.Centering the "Civilization of Goodness" vision during his term, Prof. Dr. Benter brought the institution a golden era in restoration projects, educational scholarships, youth activities, and social solidarity.

Prof. Dr. Benter'in görev süresince binlerce Kıbrıslı gence eğitim bursu sağlanmıştır. Eğitimde fırsat eşitliği yaratmak adına kurulan fonlarla öğrencilerin üniversite ve lisansüstü eğitimleri desteklenmiş, gençlik merkezleri ve gelişim programları aktif olarak hayata geçirilmiştir.During Prof. Dr. Benter's term, educational scholarships were provided to thousands of Cypriot youth. Funds established to create equal opportunities in education supported students' undergraduate and postgraduate education, and youth centers and development programs were actively implemented.

Kıbrıs genelinde Osmanlı ve ecdat yadigarı olan camiler, kütüphaneler, hamamlar ve tarihi vakıf binaları aslına uygun olarak restore edilmiştir. Yok olmaya yüz tutmuş kültürel miras korunarak gelecek nesillere ve Kıbrıs turizmine kazandırılmıştır.Ottoman and ancestral heritage mosques, libraries, baths, and historical foundation buildings across Cyprus were restored to their original forms. Cultural heritage facing extinction was preserved and brought to future generations and Cyprus tourism.

Tarihi vakıf senedinde yer alan "İyilik Medeniyeti" vizyonu doğrultusunda, KKTC genelinde yardıma muhtaç binlerce aileye gıda, sağlık malzemesi ve barınma destekleri verilmiştir. Toplumsal dayanışmayı canlandıracak düzenli hayır projeleri organize edilmiştir.In line with the "Civilization of Goodness" vision in the historical foundation deed, food, medical supplies, and housing support were provided to thousands of families in need across the TRNC. Regular charity projects were organized to revive social solidarity.
